WWE SummerSlam at Ford Field: How to get tickets, where to park, bag policy, show time

DETROIT -- World Wrestling Entertainment’s biggest show of the summer is set to take place Saturday night as the stars of WWE invade Ford Field in downtown Detroit for an action-packed night of wrestling. Highlighted by numerous title matches and deeply-personal feuds, SummerSlam marks the first time WWE has hosted an event at Ford Field since WrestleMania 23 in 2007.
With the anticipation hitting a fever pitch ahead of tonight’s show, here’s your look at what you need to know if you’re going to be one of the expected 40,000-plus fans in attendance.

LAST-MINUTE TICKETS
Tickets for SummerSlam are still available through Ticketmaster, starting at $35 for upper bowl seats and climbing to $1,700 for third-row floor seats. Tickets can also be found on secondary sites such as StubHub and Seat Geek for sections all over the stadium.
DOORS
Ford Field opens at 5:30 p.m. and the show is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Security lines can take time to get through, so arriving early is recommended.
SHOW LENGTH
While there is no set time for the show to officially end, WWE’s premium live events typically last less than four hours.
PARKING
Spots at various Ford Field lots can be purchased for $50 on a first-come-first serve basis. Here’s a map of the Ford Field lots that are available. Parking can also be pre-purchased at various lots in downtown Detroit. Pre-purchased parking can be found here.
RIDE SHARE
For those of you taking an Uber, Lyft or other ride sharing options, pickup and drop off is staged at the southbound service drive along Mack Ave. Staging for rideshare rides during and after the show will begin at 10 p.m.
CAMERA POLICY
· Allowed: Small personal cameras
· Not allowed: GoPro/video cameras, selfie sticks, tripods or monopods, camera bags and cases, cameras with lenses over 5″.
BAG POLICY
· Permitted: Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
· Permitted: One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
· Permitted: Small clutch bags, camera and binocular cases, not exceeding 4.5″ x 6.5″, with or without a handle or strap, can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bag options
· Permitted: Medically necessary items including insulin, medication, portable oxygen, small soft pack coolers and breast pumps
· Permitted: Infant items in a clear bag (bottles, formula) with a child
· Not permitted: Purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, book bags, diaper bags, fanny packs, cinch bags, grocery and paper bags, duffle bags, computer bags or luggage of any kind
PERMITTED ITEMS (following inspection)
· Small radios (must be used with an earpiece or headphones) • Umbrellas, small compact only. Must be placed securely under the seat.
· Handheld posters & signs without poles or sticks. Must not block another guest’s view.
· Battery operated clothing or signs if approved after thorough inspection.
· Loose batteries & wires are not allowed
· Tablets (iPads, Kindles, etc.) Inappropriate subject matter should not be displayed and must not block another guest’s view
· Seat cushions not exceeding 15″ x 15″ and must not contain arm rests, zippers, pockets, flaps or metal backs
PROHIBITED ITEMS
· Aerosol cans (hairspray, mace, pepper spray, etc.)
· Animals (except certified service animals to aid guests with disabilities)
· Balloons (air or helium)
· Balls (beach balls, footballs, etc.)
· Banners or large flags
· Battery operated clothing and signs
· Cameras with lenses longer than five inches
· Chairs including folding chairs or stools
· Decals, stickers, confetti or glitter
· Drones and/or remote controlled aircraft
· Electronic equipment including laptop computers, video recorders, tripods and wearable video cameras including Go Pros.
· Fireworks
· Flashlights
· Food, beverages or liquids (cans, bottles, water bottles, flasks, cups, boxes, popcorn buckets, etc.)
· Handouts, items or goods intended for unauthorized sale, promotion, exchange or giveaway
· Illegal substances: Knives, pocket knives, box cutters, scissors, etc.
· Laser pointers
· Marijuana, including medically prescribed, electronic accessories or paraphernalia associated with marijuana or illegal narcotics use.
· Markers (permanent) and/or paint
· Noisemaking devices (bells, horns, kazoos, whistles, etc.)
· Objects that can be used as missiles or projectiles (sticks, poles, bats, clubs, Frisbees, etc.)
· Offensive or profane messages or images on signs and clothing that are distasteful or indecent
· Selfie sticks
· Strollers and infant car seats or carriers
· Umbrellas (large size)
· Weapons including handguns, tasers, chemical sprays, brass knuckles, etc.
· Wrapped gifts
· No weapons are allowed in the stadium. Possession of a firearm or any other weapon is strictly forbidden. Possession of such a weapon will result in immediate confiscation, ejection and possible arrest.
